A starter fleet of 5 AquaVolt Foam Rider FR-15 electric surfboards costs $19,250 EXW at the factory in China, or $19,397.05 with the sea-freight estimate on the spec sheet. Import duties, taxes, insurance and delivery from the port are extra and are not on the spec sheets.

Charging, not purchase price, sets how many rides a board earns per day: the FR-15 rides for 60–90 minutes and needs 3–4 hours to charge, which is 2–3 full rides in a 10-hour day on one battery. This guide is for owners of a rental, resort or watersport-school business. Every figure comes from the AquaVolt spec sheets and EXW price tiers on our wholesale page, as published on 7 October 2026, and every total below is plain arithmetic on those figures.

AquaVolt Foam Rider FR-15: 15 kW, 4.1 kWh battery, 45–60 km/h.

Which AquaVolt model fits a rental or school fleet?

AquaVolt sells 6 models: the Foam Rider boards list a 120 kg max load, the Cruiser jet boats 150 kg, and the CF-8 and PC-15 list none. That limit applies to every customer you put on the water, so check it against the riders you expect before you pick a model.

Source: AquaVolt spec sheets on the wholesale page, 7 October 2026. Top speed: 45–60 km/h on the FR-15, FR-10, S1 and S2; 50 km/h on the CF-8; not published for the PC-15.

For a school, our shop page says an efoil lifts above the water once it picks up speed and "takes a few sessions to learn", so budget lesson time if you pick the CF-8.

How many rides a day does one board give?

One AquaVolt board gives 2 to 4 full-battery rides in a 10-hour day, depending on the model. The Cruiser S1 and S2 take 5–6 hours to charge, the Foam Riders 3–4 hours and the CF-8 efoil 2 hours, against 60–90 minutes of riding on every model with a published ride time.

Ride time against charge time for two AquaVolt models Bars at the longest published times: the Foam Rider FR-15 rides 90 minutes and charges 4 hours; the Cruiser S1 rides 90 minutes and charges 6 hours. Foam Rider FR-15 ride ≤90 min charge ≤4 h Cruiser S1 ride ≤90 min charge ≤6 h

Arithmetic, not a measured result: it assumes one battery per board, a full battery at opening, one full charge between rides and every ride using the whole charge. "800 cycles" is the published battery life (0.5C), counted here as one cycle per full ride. Spare batteries are not on the spec sheets — ask for them in the quote form.

The Foam Rider FR-15 battery is rated for 800 cycles, so at 2 full rides a day it lasts 400 operating days and at 3 rides a day about 267. That is a battery replacement to budget for within about 9 to 13 months of daily operation.

What do 5, 11 and 51 boards cost per unit?

AquaVolt quotes every model at 3 EXW volume tiers — 5–10, 11–50 and 51–200 units — and the Foam Rider FR-15 falls from $3,850 per unit at 5–10 units to $3,050 at 11–50 units. EXW is the price at the factory in China; freight, insurance and import duties are extra.

The tier step changes the best order size. If the tier price applies to the whole order, as the tier table reads, 11 Foam Rider FR-15 boards cost $33,550 — $4,950 less than 10 boards at $38,500.

Foam Rider FR-15$38,500$33,550−$4,950

Foam Rider FR-10$37,500$35,750−$1,750

Carbon Foil CF-8$43,000$45,100+$2,100

EXW totals before freight, duties and taxes. Ask for the tier treatment in writing: your quote is what counts, not this table.

For the FR-15, FR-10 and Cruiser S1, ordering 11 is cheaper than ordering 10. For the other three models, 11 units cost more than 10, so stay at 10 or fewer unless you need the extra boards.

What does a 5-board starter fleet cost landed?

A 5-board fleet costs between $18,897.05 (Foam Rider FR-10) and $22,681.80 (Cruiser S2) at the factory plus the published sea-freight estimate. Duties, taxes, insurance and delivery from the port come on top and depend on your country.

5 units at the 5–10 tier price, plus 5 × the per-unit sea-freight estimate. Each unit ships in 1 wooden crate (FR-15 crate: 196 × 70 × 40 cm, 0.549 CBM, 120 kg). The spec sheet does not say which destination the freight estimate assumes — ask for a port-specific quote.

Worked example for a US buyer: 5 FR-15 boards come to $19,397.05 at the factory plus estimated sea freight. To that, add US import duty, any state or local tax, customs-broker fees, insurance and delivery from the US port to your site. We do not publish duty figures because rates change; ask a customs broker for the rate that applies to your classification before you pay a deposit. Buyers in the EU, the UK and other markets add the same layers under their own rules.

What to check locally before you start an electric surfboard rental business

Local rules decide whether you can rent these craft at all, and we do not state them here because they differ by country, waterway and insurer. Check each of these with the authority or company named before you order:
